Troms County Government aims to create a better region in which to live and contributes towards the development of the High North into an attractive region and to develop Troms as a leading environmental county.
Governance
Norwegian County Councils are today part of a three level governance system:
-
Central Government
-
Administrative regions, County Councils (19 fylkeskommuner)
-
Municipalities (431 kommuner)
In addition, there is a County Governor (fylkesmannen) in each county, who is the chief representative of both the monarch and the government, with a separate administration and separate responsibilities to the county council.
